It is with great pleasure that I announce the running of the first, of many I hope, Karting event that I’ll be holding at Brentwood Karting Raceway on the October 27th 2018.
My newest racing sponsor, Paragon Ecommerce Ltd, who originally joined me for a one-off meeting at Knockhill Circuit, their local track, have kindly jumped in to title role for this event and will field their own team of four as part of the 18 strong team on the day. Duncan Fox, Director of Paragon, said of his extended association, “we found ourselves in a unique situation with young Emily. She works so hard and engages with her fans so much that her reach was too great to not try working with her. We were shocked at the level of interest the association generated over the Knockhill weekend and following weeks, that it was a no-brainer to get back in with her for the last two rounds at Silverstone and Brands Hatch too. It worked so well that I was delighted to take up the title sponsor position for the karting event that’s coming up on a few weeks time too, and we’ll have our own banner at Brentwood Karting for the next year to boot.”
The format for the race itself will consist of 18 teams of 4 drivers. There’ll be a 20 minute practice/qualifying session before the race with each of the teams deciding on their own strategy for the race. However, there is a twist. Teams can choose to play a “joker” (actually, as many as they like) during the first 1hr 45 minutes, where they pay £10 for each joker allowing them to choose a team to “knobble”. That team’s driver then has to pit, run to the sin bin where they then have to perform 10 start jumps, push-ups or answer a series of questions. Once finished, they can re-join the race. This has been proved to be so much fun and often results in retaliation from the knobbled team too, can see it’s going to be great fun.
Emily’s race team, Richardson Racing, will be in attendance too, bringing with them Emily’s Ginetta Junior Car and the British F4 car that she tested a few weeks ago. Emily will be doing a couple of demonstration laps in the F4 car subject to time and weather constraints.
Prepaid entries only, arrival at 2pm for a 3pm start, finishing around 5.30pm. Should you wish to enter your team, the cost is £75 per driver (£300 per 4 person team) and must be paid before the event. Please contact email@example.com for further details or call on 07831 447166
It looks set to be a fun afternoon’s racing at the place where Emily’s racing career started back in 2016. We’ll post up after the event with all the details of who did what on the day.
